Yellowbrick International (YBI), based in Amsterdam (Netherlands), develops a mobile parking platform for use in both the public and private sector. Its mission is to become a global leader in the field of Mobile Parking Platforms (MPP).

YBI was created in October 2014 when Parkéon (world leader in Parking meters) and YellowBrick (major MPP player in Benelux) decided to integrate their MPP solutions.

YBI currently has a strong focus on European and North-American markets, but also ambitions to grow business in emerging country areas.

PHP Software Developer

(Full-time) 

Yellowbrick International (YBI) is offering multiple mobile phone payment solutions for parking to consumers in fifteen countries. In order to keep leading the market, Yellowbrick International (YBI) is launching a project to merge the various solutions into one, keeping the best in class modules whilst removing the need to maintain different solutions. In this context, we are looking for developers specialized in PHP.

The role of software developer is to implement features according to the guidelines provided by the architect, and the functional design provided by business analyst. The developer updates the product’s documentation with detailed technical specifications and details of implementation. It also creates automated unit tests that check that the code developed is providing the expected results

  • Build an automated test infrastructure
  • Build and maintain test cases
  • Transform test cases into automated tests scenarios and enrich/maintain them over the time
  • Report about test campaign results, coverage and risks

RESPONSIBILITIES

The developer:

  • Creates and enhance the source code according to the technical and functional design
  • Updates the documentation with the low level design decisions made during implementation
  • Makes technical tests (through automated unit tests) of the implementation before hand-over to the testers
  • Supports the testers in defect analysis, test case design and test execution.
  • Informs the team leader of development status, progress and issues on a regular basis
  • Supports the application managers in production defects analysis and delivers hot fixes
  • Provides feedback and inputs on high level designs, both technical and functional

SKILLS

  • You have a 3 – 5 years’ experience in software development, mostly with PHP
  • You have studied IT (architecture, design, software development, source management, automated tests) and have worked already as a software developer
  • Fluent business English is a must, Dutch is a plus
  • Experience in PHP is mandatory
  • Experience with Apache / Tomcat is mandatory
  • Source code management with SVN and / or Git is mandatory
  • Cruise control and automated tests management through Jenkins is mandatory
  • PostGreSQL, Elastic search
  • Jira / confluence
  • REST web services, Json and XML
  • Web development and apps development is a plus
  • Fluent business English is a must, Dutch is a plus
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and in written
  • You actively report on issues you cannot solve alone
  • You are able to clearly communicate your view on matters
  • You strive for quality from a pragmatic perspective

CONTRACT DURATION
Your assignment will start as soon as possible, for an minimum initial duration of 7 months. Your assignment can be moved to a permanent contract at the end of the initial period, depending on your personal performances.
